Good luck to the contingent of Collie Cycle Club riders in the open

event this Saturday. With the much anticipated Collie to Donnybrook

handicap event its exciting to see the majority of Collie riders

starting together off the 14 minute mark. Lets all hope the group work

well together and hang on for as long they can over the 102km journey.

Watch closely for the Collie riders who will be wearing the new Collie

uniforms.

The club hope to see as many supporters as possible after the event

at the celebrations. See you all there and good luck to our local riders.

Its that time of the year again where the Collie Cycle Club hosts the historic Collie to

Donnybrook and Return Classic.

With nominations now closed there are 80 nominations in the main event which

leaves the main street of Collie beginning at 12.30pm. With the classic one of the

last remaining true handicap events in WA we wish all riders the very best for the day

in the gruelling event particularly coming home over the Mumballup climbs when

the legs are feeling heavy and the fatigue has set in.

Of special interest again this year will be a number of riders from the South West

Cycle Club riding in the 'Desire' jerseys in memory of a past winner, the late

Darren Strudwick who was tragically taken during a training ride on the way home

from work in 2010.
